Privacy Policy for Fluency

Last updated: June 3, 2026

Welcome to Fluency ("we," "our," or "us"). We are dedicated to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, and process your data when you use our mobile or desktop applications.

1. Audio and Voice Data

Fluency is a Cantonese pronunciation grading application. To provide pronunciation feedback, we collect microphone audio recordings when you interact with lessons or ordering simulations.

Audio Processing: Audio files are temporarily recorded to your device. When you trigger grading, the audio is sent securely over HTTPS to our Firebase Cloud Functions. We process the voice input using the Google Gemini API to analyze pronunciation correctness, and use our zero-shot voice conversion engine to morph your tones.

Data Deletion: All temporary audio recordings are deleted locally on your device immediately after grading completes. No audio recordings are permanently stored on our servers.

2. Information Collection & Authentication

To authenticate users and sync progress maps, we use Firebase Authentication. If you sign in, we may store your email and user identifier securely. No marketing info or profiling datasets are built or shared with third parties.

3. Security of Your Data

We use industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS encryption for all data transport, to secure your transmissions and protect your speech evaluation records.
